aluminum floor jack

FYI, toolprice.com lists an aluminum floor jack(3000lbs)
with 3.5"-17.5" lift in 6 pumps, for $139.95! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
It has a single front roller, two rear casters, and a rubber saddle pad.
I have seen what appears to be an identical jack elsewhere for $350 and up.
I will be ordering one, and will let everybody know what the scoop is.
Toolprice has some incredible deals! Some of it is junk, more than likely, but well worth a look.

Looks like Harbor Freight sells the same one for $ 169.99.
So Toolprice is knocking $ 30 off...that pays for the shipping.

I have one of the HF jacks and think it is very nice. Low saddle and light weight.

These jacks have many cast parts versus forged or machined. They cannot compare to the $600 and up quality jacks. You get what you pay for.

That said, they may last 2 pumps or 2,000 pumps.

Bart,

My concern was not only price, but initial height.
My car's ride height precludes using most so called
"low profile" jacks on the market. I have to remove
the saddle, and pad the frame of the jack that I use
now, to get it under the chassis.

Bill, you need to check out this site for your jack. Makes other choices seem silly. I have two.

Ultimate Jack

Bill,

I have the DK13HLQ model as its clearance height remains under 4" for the first 16" of reach. I wanted something that could reach under the front or rear of a Cobra and jack up the ends as well as the sides. This is the only jack that I could find that gave me a shot.

Also, it is a first quality product, not like some that are coming from China. I didn't care that it doesn't have the weight of the AL. I even use it as my track jack.
