best oil for un1? what do you use?

ive tried searching the forums, read through 15 pages and tried the search function, but couldnt find anything

whats the best oil for a un1?
i know its supposed to be 75w90
but semi syn? fully syn? race oil?
millers,
silkolene?
castrol
redline
motul
valvoline

but what has every1 had good results with?

can any1 help?

When I had my UN1 rebuilt, I put in Morriss’s Lodexol SS 75W/90. I also have a note about API GLI-5 Universal, but can't remember what that's in relation to.
I can let you know where to get it if you e-mail me.
Gearbox has been fine ever since.

I know a lot of the Lotus guys use Redline MT90 instead of the recommended Castrol TAF-X. Also they avoid GL5 oils due to the destructive effect it has on the brass syncros over time.

I spoke to opie oils to see what they recomend,
they suggested redline lightweight shockproof oil, for racing transaxles
they are sending me 4 quarts for free as a trial which is very good of them.
Will let you know how I get on with it.
Any1 tried it b4?
