Bra for GT40

While checking out Wayne Presley's pictures I noticed he had a shot of my car at Willow, wearing a bra to keep down the road rash. It works - just a word of caution if you go this route. Don't do like I did and leave out the headlight cut outs. The no cut outs makes for a stronger bra but the heat build up on a hot day at Willow fries the light covers. Gives them that custom wavey look!

3M makes a product that can be installed over the paint on the impact areas. Does anyone have any long term experience with this product. How does it hold up on a black car with extreme heat from the sun? Is there any yellowing or peeling? How does it handle a impact that would have chipped the paint.
I saw it on a new car it was barely noticable.
I just don't like the look of bra.

Lloyd,

The clear 3M stuff is pretty durable. It will

yellow over a period of time, but is fairly

cheap, so replacement isn't a big issue.

While I wouldn't try it on the front clip,

it works well enough on the rocker panels

and bottom/sides of the rear clip. Besides,

it sure beats the hell out of mudflaps!

There seems to be a couple of choices for clear coatings on the market (e.g stone guard???). Does anyone have experience with some of the others?
