Estimated @ £ 140k - £170k "That's UK pounds"
It would be interesing to see if there are any buyers at this price ' I dont think so but I will let you know if it sells or not

Does anyone know if the UK GTs are unique in any way (right hand drive etc.) or are them simply US imports with the minimal conversions (like headlamps) done? Just curious.

Regards,

Al H.

AFAIK, there are no RHD GT's. Frd adapt them for the UK market and each car is subjected to an SVA test. There are several small modifications made (Brett's your man to speak to on this)

You may be pleased to know that the Ford GT at Bonhams Auction 5th Dec. did not appear to sell for the over inflated price of £ 140k - £ 170k , I do not know what the bids went to, If I find out I will post again. Perhaps as these GT dont sell the price will eventually drop to a level where the true enthusiast will buy and use them

I asked my son to take a pic of me in the Ford GT,So what does he do? take the back of my 'shiney'head, dont you luv em.

Your son doesn't "get it". (But he will when he gets to his mid life /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

Checking the Bonhams site, lot #636 is not listed as sold. So the bidding probably did not exceed the reserve (minimum) bid.

"This left-hand drive GT40 is one of approximately 28 examples specially built by Ford for the European market and comes with UK Swansea V5 registration document. Finished in Midnight Blue with black interior, it has covered a mere 280 miles in the hands of its current (first) owner and is presented in effectively 'as new' condition."
