Howden Ganley

I was at the PRI show last weekend and one of the highlights was when I was talking to a supplier and I looked at his tag and it was Howden Ganley. I couldn't believe it. I got him to talk about his career. I didn't realize it but he was the 4th car is the infamous finish at the 1971 Monza GP. Peter Gethin, Ronnie Peterson, Francois Cevert and Howden crossed the finish line in a pack. Howden is also the guy driving in the video with Jackie Stewart narrating the lap of the Nurburgring. The classic quote from Jackie "For a quick lap around the Nurburgring in 7 minutes and 7 or 8 seconds, you experience more than most people experience in a lifetime in regards to fear and tension and animosity towards a machine and a race track"

What a great video. Howden was also the one half of TIGA Cars if my memory serves me correctly. I think Tim Schenken was the other which is where the TI came from. They produced some great cars.
