Marchal headlight mounts

I used these brackets as they came with my headlights as an assembly. Basically with some alloy spacers between the body & bracket to align them they work flawless.

I used alloy spacers and some rings between the bolts (body & plate) to get a base setting for headlight. The two small headlight adjusters as seen on the pic are for fine tuning.
Really nice and practical. What if the headlight/lens covers are mounted? I guess the adjustment screws are no longer accessible.

In the meantime I ordered the same set of headlights and holders from two different suppliers. Waiting for the parts to come in.

Thats right, to adjust the headlights the covers have to come off. But thats just a few screws.

Or convert to the original style adjuster knob on the back, but that means the wheel has to come off to be able to reacht that knob.
At the Dutch MOT the covers are not alowed, so they have to come off anyway, making it easy for the MOT station to adjust the headlights every two years.

Those mounts are not for the GT. You will have to figure out how to mount them into the fiberglass unless you want to run bolts through the facia of the body which will be seen from the front.

Thanks. Really useful information.
How did you mount your fog lights? Is there a similar backplate?

Clamp'd with the original backing & the two screws that used to clamp the front cover.

The housing has to be mounted on springs to allow an ajustment of the beam with screws.
There are no regulations in the Netherlands for adjustment of the spotlights, they can shine wherever you want.

I was in a hurry to get my GT40 road legal in the Netherlands after Brexit thats why I didn't care making them adjustable. They have a seperate switch making them auxilary lights or off road lights, regulations exempt. Dutch RDW & APK ( Like DVLA & MOT) both don't care.
They only care about the headlights which are fully adjustable from the outside with the covers removed. Making it easy for the MOT to do adjustments in front of the headlight beam tester.

I must say, I have the complete adjustment kit from Jimmy Mac, but haven't fitted it yet.
Since the GT is roadlegal & sorted I didn't care much about the lower lights.

I am curious too. Did not see a reply. I would guess they are glued to the bottom of the fiberglass pocket. Would be great if someone can share a photo.
See page 1.
Four Allen bolts in all corners holds the plate & two flathead screw type adjusters, one low down & one up in the opposide corner.
Keeping it simple as its a road car thats MOT compliant in the Netherlands.

Hardley noticable with my black lamp bowls & covers on.
Just a few washers between the adjusting plate & body to align things up (was out off headlight adjustment reach).
Keeping it simple!

Bart - the original mounting plate is bonded to the backside of the body. The lower 90 degree bend wraps under the light shelf and bonds there. The top bonds to the surround area. In order for this system to work, you need to have the correct fasteners between the plate and light assembly. see thread below.

Those parts were my personal pieces gifted to me or swops, I can't remember when but they will be in a box somewheres.
They were all newly remanufactured as exact replacements of originals and confected years ago, not usually for general sale.
I have lost touch but there was never a website.

Similarly, below a photo of some original FAV adjustment knobs given to me by a man who knew about GT40s, Bryan Wingfield.
It is dated 2008.

PS note - Paul
If any of my pictures have parts on this charcoal base then they were taken in my workshop.
