All of the cars in the FIA GT3 Championship have their performance balanced to keep the racing closer. Lame, but far better racing than NASCAR, imo.
Christophe Bouchut is the official test driver for the FIA GT3 Championship. His comments from endurance-info.com on the new Ford GT racecar:
(his website: Site officiel de Christophe Bouchut - Home)
I tested this car for the first time at Adria, but we did not have new tires. And yet it was diablement effective. This car of legend attracts first of all by its “mouth”! Then it was born very well. Your functions very well, all the bodies are really very accessible for the mechanics. This Ford GT is well thought. It has a good engine and a good frame. It is quite simply a very good car, which it will be necessary to again evaluate before the beginning of the season.
on the Dodge Viper Competition Coupe:
Viper was the most penalized car last year, with a hundred kilos of embarked ballast. It should be said that it is about a “baby-GT1” disguised in GT3. Without its supports, it would crush competition! This Dodge has a true charisma: it is bestial, powerful (520 horses) and, contrary to Ferrari or Aston Martin, it does not enjoy any hyper technical sophistication. It is to be wondered by which miracle this Viper manages to roll also quickly. That the weather is nice or that it rains, it is however disconcerting of facility to be controlled. It accelerates violently, slows down also extremely, passes quickly in curve: a treat.

The new Ford GT racecar will race in a German GT series.
