New RF Pricing structure

After several months of hard work we finally nailed down a system I believe will help more people afford the car.
We still offer the Deluxe kit but now we have added a new twist to the line up. You can now purchase a rolling chassis then purchase module packages of which there are ten to complete your GT. Each module package will contain all items pertinant to assembly of that module. As an example if you purchase the fuel tank module it will have all the fittings, hoses and pumps. Everything needed to put the fuel system into the RFGT.
The Roaring Forties web site will have these prices on it as soon as we get the site updated.
Here is the new module price list.

Now that makes a lot of sense. Robert and Hershal are to be congratulated on designing a modular approach that will make it easier for long-term builders to get into an RF. I know exactly how I'll spec out my next one. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

No doubt RF has continued to improve the breed since chassis # 36 was produced. Not that I'm complaining! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

What chassis number is RF up to now anyway?

Thanks Mark,
We think it was the best way to offer this car. To me it was the only choice rather than sacrificing quality then you wouldn't have an RF. I truly believe that if a less expensive GT40 could be built it would have been done by now.
I believe that RF is on chassis 90 or 91, not sure but I bet Robert knows. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thanks for sending me this information the other day Hershal. Its a difficult decision to make as to manufacturer...I really like the idea of the SPF but can't get any information out of them....what has been posted on this site is the culmination of all information out there. I will be calling you about the options I have since I am looking at getting this car a year from now and believe I should start working towards the end goal now rather than later.

Again thanks for all your hard work.

Hey Matt,
I'll make your decision a little easier if you come out to Phoenix for a visit here. One drive in the RFGT40 should do it.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hersh /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

PS. Matt, I'll even put you up for a day or two and you can hang around here and be submersed in GT40 stuff. And you know me..I'll talk your ear off. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hershal,
Great Idea for those who need to spread things out a bit. I noticed the Rolling Chassis is price + shipping. Is shipping included in the price for each module? Will the leather interior option be available? Does this mean I will have to tell my Minister of Domestic affairs the real reason why we bought a large grage with a small house attached to it, or why her crazy husband is building a ford engine when we dont even own a ford? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hi Scott,
The shipping is not included. It's about $3200 USD. Shipping for the modules will be from Phoenix. Shipping Cost will depend on the wieght of the module crate.
Leather is all we now offer. so it is now standard.
Scott, all I know is that you are one ssmart cookie if you pulled off a bigger garage than house purchase. I wouldn't worry about the Ford engine as most women haven't a clue as to what kind they are /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks Hersh,

For your info, the UK prices will exactly reflect the US prices. There is of course the issue of VAT and I am checking out the import tax situation at the moment (I have been told about 3 different things at the moment!)

Let me give praise where praise is due :

the idea for the modular system was a combination of Rick and Hershal. They both thought that the shipment would be a lot easier if we did it this way and that would make life easier for our customers and distribution people. Areal win - win situation.

Best wishes,

Robert

Did I miss something ? The price for a complete kit is 46,000 or bought as modules 56,000.

Hersh, I think you have a good idea but I have a concern.
Is there a guarantee that an individual who buys a RF this
way over a couple of years would get the full kit if RF40
changes hands or goes out of business?
"God forbid" as my Mother would say.
Is there a time limit to purchase this way?

Gordy,
As soon as I saw this thread I had to break out my calculator for a comparison. I might be wrong but I came up with $46,800 for the rolling chassis plus all of the modules. I left out the $7,300 for aluminum pannel fitting, as I think this is an option (and its not included in the base price for the deluxe kit either.) For a fair comparison I added the $1990 AC option that is included with the deluxe kit for a total of $48,790. Add about $1500 for shiping of the modules for a final total of $50,290. (I left out shipping for the rolling chassis since it is about the same as the shipping for the deluxe kit) Is this about right Hershal? Or am I missing somthing?

Gordy,
The price of the rolling chassis and all of the modules comes to 44K. If you throw in the A/C option it brings it to $45990. What you did was add from Quick build option. Which brings it to your total. The quick build has all of the panels in place and the body is fully fitted with door latches, locks and all of the body mounting hardware such as centering cones, latches and fasteners in place. If you don't want the fast build then deduct $7300 labor charge from the total. It is true that additional shipping fees will apply if you just buy one module at a time but that shipping cost will be from Phoenix not Australia.
I hope this helps.

Steve,
Robert Logan is a very good business man as well as a GT40 nut like all of us. I believe as long as there is interest in these car then Roaring Forties will be around for a loooong time. What really will keep RF's doors open is the quality of the car. It is to well sorted to fall by the wayside. Yes. I do sell Robert's cars but I truly believe in his product. The module package idea gets more people in the game. I don't know anything on earth that's for sure except death and taxes but if I was a betting man I would put my money on RF being around for many many years. I think Robert started the business in 1997. His company has steadily grown into what it is today. The only reason this could happen is because of a great product.

Hersh,
I really like the concept. It will get me started sooner than I had planned.
I did not find the shifter assembly in the packages. Did I miss it?
Thanks, Keith

No Keith, you didn't miss it...We did. Thanks for catching it. I will have it changed. I believe it was to go under the Drive train Module #7. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
