Brian,
I am not sure if that would work or not, BUT let me relate something that happened with me. My headers were Jet-Hot coated with silver. The car sat in a non-temperature contolled building in between the paint shop working on it, which took quite some time. When I got the car back, I was amazed and quite upset because my headers looked as though they were rusting away. I immediately called Jet-Hot and they said, "sorry Charlie, its been to long. Try polishing them with an aluminum polish."
Once I got the car ready for the road and started driving it, I began to notice that each time the headers got good and hot, the rust stains were starting to disappear. After a few weeks, they looked pretty much like they had when the car went to the paint/body shop. If this is your issue, take heart; it may not be as bad as you think it is. If you just want to change the finish color, you really need to talk to those that applied the coating to make sure if and how you might go about this. At the very least, let us know who did the coating and maybe someone here has tried it on your particular brand of ceramic coating.
Regards,
Lynn
