For sale is my GTD40 which over the last three years in my ownership has gone through a substantial refurbishment. It’s been a huge amount of fun both driving and doing the restoration work but it time to move onto other cars I want to own and enjoy.
The chassis was built by GTD in 1995 and the car first registered in 1997. The history file on the car is a huge A4 binder and goes all the way back to when the car was first being built, including all the original receipts from GTD. Every service invoice, parts receipt, MOT and all the work I have had done to the car is recorded and in the folder.
Car has Ford 302 V8 Engine built by SD racing with 670 cfm Holley carburettor (fitted and tuned by Taylor Automotive in 2018) and Renault gearbox and has covered 11,500 miles.Brakes are Wilwood units all round (6 pot on front) also fitted by Taylor Automotive
During my ownership the car has had the following:
Entire suspension upgraded to fully adjustable suspension by Southern GT (just finished)
Protek shock absorbers refurbished by Protek and springs powder coated
New Willans belts fitted
Interior fully refurbished by Surrey Car interiors including newly fitted (removable) carpets and doors re-lined in black leather
Front end completely stripped back last winter and new Pro Alloy radiator fitted and every coolant pipe and component replaced
Entire air conditioning system has been refurbished/renewed with new condenser, pump, radiator and pipe work
New 15 inch BRM6 wheels from Image Wheels and Avon CR6-ZZ tyres fitted all round year
‘Bundle of snakes’ exhaust ceramic coated by Camcoat performance coatings
New starter motor
New steering rack
New oil cooler
New Smiths rev counter
Both fuel pumps replaced
Both windows replaced including Southern GT inserts and new headlamp covers
Car will come with additional deep vent nostril panel made by Lee Dawson although this will need painting
Hundreds of hours of cleaning and polishing ans runs and drives beautifully
Just MOT’d.
