Southern GT handbrake beam

Hi
Need to know if I mounted the handbrake beam the right way.
Could’nt find any pictures in the building treads that show the right location.

Hi, here is one of my cars. I have an extra crossmember, not in photo, where my cables cross. Most builders dont do it like I have. I have mine upside down compared to yours, but all depends on how the wire aligns so you get a straight pull.

Hi,
I have mine fitted the same as yours Iwdal, but mine is closer to the engine mounts I think in order for enough movement on the handbrake lever and the pull on the cables.
Mine works fine, it will hold the car and passed IVA as it is. Good luck with the build.

I would wait with installing the beam until you have your engine fitted. Also a thought if you do LHD look into your water pump if its LH or RH as your handbrake will be on the LH of the tunnel and the rod going from the handbrake handle to the bar might collide with the cooling pipe bends like you have them pointing now. Plan ahead your cooling pipes and hoses, wait with the beam until you have it all inside enginebay to have a play with hoses. Its very tight for space.
