VW W12 to Porsche G86.20 transaxle

In 2005 Chris made me an adaptor to fit my aluminum 427 SOHC engine to my new Ricardo transaxle in my scratch built GT40. I got the engineering data for the Ricardo from Ford Racing to furnish to him and he got it made and shipped to me very quickly. He knows what he is doing and is very good at it.

Short update - talked to Chris and Clutch Industries in Australia. Chris will make me a flywheel and an adapter plate. We will use the UniClutch 8" track for this.

Drawings made and Chris is starting the machining.
Looking forward to it all!

Cool project. Is there any support for that engine? like overhaul parts? Are they Alusil bores?
Is that 735mm from front of crankshaft pully to centerline of output shaft?

OK, changed the setup slightly. There is now an additional 40mm flywheel spacer adapter (red) and a 39mm flywheel spacer hub (orange). This maintains original starter and everything. This is the easiest way forward. The distance between front of engine and drive shafts is now 40mm longer: 775mm instead of the original 735mm. This is still very short and no other W12/gearbox combination will give you such an extremely tight package.

Fuel injection and ignition system also sorted out. Will list a full overview of all parts for anyone who wants the same.

There is nothing more beautiful than this W12 engine.

The setup can also be made for a 01E (shown in orange), instead of the G86-20 (shown in green). The G86-20 is cable shifted, so easy to get it all functional. The 01E needs a mechanical linkage or a cable conversion. I have not found such a cable shift conversion. Both gear boxes hold 500HP.

Side note: I have all the designs here to make this all happen, but not enough funds to do this quickly and all by myself. Can design anything and get it made (see posts of the hardware made by Chris, this is absolutely top notch, very rare skill here and extreme attention to detail). If anyone is looking for W12 custom-made parts, please contact me. Anything possible here.

Yes, I have all the refurbishment parts for W12 here. I have not found anyone to make sleeves, but you do not need any.

The ALUSIL bores do not need resleeving typically, and they do not need recoating. In fact there is no coating.

They can be refurbished with ease apparently. All you need to bore and then etch away some of the aluminium on the surface, and magically you are done.
