when my car was first viewed by chiron months ago they instantly noticed a fatal floor in the suspension geometry between the bellcrank in relation to the damper mounting angle at the rear.
Not a "major" prob it would just mean a new shock mount and rocker at a later date.

It was advised yesterday that all the early SLCs had been supplied with the old ones and now RCR have new shock mounts and rockers that eliminates "shock twist"

  • so what is shock twist as even my race car builder has never come across this term in the UK?
  • can any newer SLC delivered owners provide pics of the new geometry components
  • Are these new parts to be supplied to the early SLC owners FOC or they will be driving around shock twisting :stunned:

here you go:

shock noun (SURPRISE)

/ʃɒk/
ussymbol.png
/ʃɑːk/ n

[C or U] (the emotional or physical reaction to) a sudden, unexpected and usually unpleasant event or experience

twist verb (CHANGE)

/twɪst/ v

[T] disapproving to change information so that it gives the message you want it to give, especially in a way that is dishonest

Craig,

Is it perhaps that the attachment bolts are not aligned parallel to each other? But looking at examples in Staniforth's book on Competition Car Suspension shows non-parallel bolt attachments on his own open-wheeled car.

its just the wrong design term.. it was changed after mine so anybody with less than 023 chassis is running the obsolete shock mounts and rocker.

I received replacement billet shock mounts and rockers from RCR a couple of weeks ago. So, I think Fran is addressing all of the earlier cars.
