Whos car is this?

Hello Richard, I cant believe that it is an original 40 for that price. More likely its one of the current crop of new cars built to original spec. They tend to be around that price. Originals that I have seen for sale usually have 7 digit price tags. Just my thoughts, Kev Farrington

Just ask them for its chassis number. If it after GT40/P1084 it may be that price. Because its not an original car that was race or built during the GT40's racing career. The Last chassis numbered of the production was GT40P1085.

Heres a list to help. It might need amending.

According to Ronnie Spains book the original P1085 was despatched in 1969 but had not been built up as a complete car when the book was published in 1986. Also all the GT40 that Bryan Wingfield built were desiginated with a 'W' after their chassis number. For instance he built P1000W. The original P1000 was crashed and buried at the Sebring racing circuit in 1966. So the 'A' does not make any sense if it was a Wingfield build?
