XGT 01

Hi all. Recently XGT 03 caused a huge amount of attention by appearing at auction. However I would like to know where is XGT 01 (not that I wish to invade the owners privacy). The last time I saw a photo it was painted yellow and carried the race number, 8.
On various trips to the USA, I've visited locations to see different cars but XGT 01 has escaped me. My next trip is likely to be in 2027 and an opportunity to see XGT 01 is high my 'bucket list'.
Any help (whilst remaining respectful) would be very welcome.
Thanks
Steve Dean (UK based).

Pretty sure XGT/1 is on display at the Simeone Automotive Museum in Philadelphia: www.simeonemuseum.org
Thank you Brian. I have just checked on their web site and it is listed as one of their exhibits. I will check with them to make sure it is there before planning a visit. It is interesting to read what they say regarding an individual who was entrusted with its restoration. Its a shame when folk can't be trusted.
Once again, thank you Brian.
Best regards
Steve

The Simeone Museum rarely, if ever, sells the cars in the collection. So it probably will be there in 2027.

If you're planning a visit, you should check their "Demo Days" schedule carefully. They will occasionally take a few of their cars out for a couple of laps around their parking lot.

Hi BenL ...... thank you for your input. The reply from SunDude (Brian) caused me have a look on youtube and lo and behold there is a video of XGT-01 being driven round the lot at the rear of the museum. Before visiting I will email/phone them to make sure the car is there and if there is a possibility of it being run. I would like to plan a trip to also take in the Shelby museum in Boulder, Colorado.
So little time .... and so many places to go, Ha!
Still several months travelling round the US again next year is fine with me as long as we get time to spend a few weeks in Arizona. The Desert Storm event in Lake Havasu is one of my favourites.
Steve.

I will be going up to PA in June of next year and I too hope the car is still there. I have included a couple of old pictures. You will note the one has the FORD in the black along the side the one in the driveway and the other does not and this is the way it looked when it was sold.
