    Classic racing simulator

Remember that my efforts to make a 3D CAD model of the Porsche 908-2 ended up with me joining a bunch of guys who are making a classic racing simulation for the PC ? It's an addon for an existing commercial product, but will be distributed free - so this isn't an advert ;) If anyone is...

    GT40 sounds

This might seem a bit strange, but does anyone have a decent quality recording of the in car sound of a GT40 ? Preferably when it's being driven hard :) The reason is that I have gotten involved with a bunch of guys who produce classic race car addons for a PC driving simulator. They are very...

    Racing transaxle gearshift

This might seem an odd question, but I'm an odd person :) How does the gearshift feel on a racing transaxle ? is the lever spring biased in one plane like a road car ? How about gated shifters ? are they any different ?

    908 body in 3D CAD

It's driven me half insane trying to do this, but I finally have managed to create a body in Solidworks. It's supposed to be a 908, but I'm not claiming any accuracy because the 'blueprints' I used were a 3 view drawing from an old slot car magazine, found on the web.

    Suspension design help

I had one of those slapping your forehead 'doh' moments yesterday. I'm looking at designing the suspension for my project with a lot of trepidation because while I'm very good with engines, my knowledge of what's going on underneath a car is a bit sketchy. I've got Mr Milliken's book, but it's...

    917 style seats

I'm struggling to find detailed information on the 917 seating system. All I know is that the 'bucket' was of a fixed size and each driver would have his own insert to sit on, covered in a red material ( fabric ? suede ? ) Does anyone have a link to a description and\or pictures of how this was...

    Planning a generic build

I love the style of classic sports prototypes from the late 60's and early 70's but I just don't have the budget for a kit. What I do have though :- 1) Well equipped machine shop and good engineering skills 2) A background in engine building 3) A friend and neighbour who is a very good...

    Hello and thanks

Thanks because I have been reading the forum for at least two years and enjoyed checking out the builds immensely. Now I'm finally registering because I'm ready to start a project of my own...
