Motorsport Vol. XLII No.7 July 1966
Page 597.

A gentleman wrote to the magazine with regard to the state of Motorsport at the time. The example he used was the below reply to a letter of complaint sent before the war to the late Col. G. M. Giles C.B.E., M.C.., T.D. I have edited out the complaint and background for the sake of brevity -
"
" Dear Boddy, we run these things for fun..."
It taught me a lesson I have never forgotten. Present-day participants should try to define the difference between fun and commercialism, before racing and rallies become the laughing stock of the sporting world. -W.H.
"

Unfortunately the warning went unheard.

Both Vettell and Riciardo have been disqualified from the Quali results and will have to start from the back of the grid. Apparently their front wings were a little too flexible.
Horner reckons he is being picked on claiming many on t he grid also have flexible wings.
Hey Christian mate you got caught, stop sooking and get on with it!

Well some one needs to say it :) well done Lewis Hamilton on your first world title, the last one does not count because of the last lap skulduggery ( no one has forgotten)

Thanks for posting that. It just shows that you should never give up. The 15 seconds referred to wasn't referring to Glock, his tyres fell apart on the lap before and slid completely wide on that bend and was also passed by others. To suggest there was a conspiracy involving Toyota and Glock means that you should join the rest of the teenage conspiracy theorists that plague the internet and F1 fan forums.

Of course, those aforementioned theorists have it today, that Prince William's presence at Abu Dhabi proved that Hamilton was "chosen" to win and that Mercedes turned off Nico Rosberg's ERS.

Congratulations Robert! You must be their leader!

Strangely enough there used to be an embargo on results :lipsrsealed:, but I guess this end of season race was different

Who was it said LH,NR,DR (?) shame no bet of a bottle of wine or 3 to the winner :laugh:

Anyway Lewis had no need to take out Nico as it was all over into the 1st corner (gremlins in the number 44 car not withstanding  )

Great race and great season, despite the naysayers.

Next up? LH Sports Personality of the Year. JB keeps Mc seat when RD tells FA to FO. The McHonda surprises all next year..................

Would that that were true Paul! I would laff and laff and laff. But, the King of Spain, Juan Carlos no less, announced that Alonso is going to McLaren. When asked about this, Alonso said "The King is always right"

Gosh, I dislike the man - all that Samurai nonsense. Good driver though...

Oops sorry, obviously 15 hours should have been longer. No sympathy though we Antipodeans suffer from the same thing all the time.
