I though it was a KCC, but not sure.
I bought it as an unfinished project from an estate of a family friend. Would like to finish it.
Looking for as much info as i can get.
Think enjin is 289 v8, look like audi gearboks.
Not sure of suspension.

Pics of the front suspension and the rear uprights would help. Pics of the body won't help. The engine could be identified by the engine block casting number. This is in raised letters on a ledge above the starter motor and can be seen from below the engine. The carb can be identified from the List Number which is stamped into the choke tower on the top of the carb.
Cheers
Mike

You have the makings of a nice car there. It's not a CAV for sure but the chassis looks to be inspired by the GTD tube chassis, It's a Mk1 style body. Interesting that it has only the RHD filler cap. One filler cap started, I believe, with the Mk11s and was later found on the Mirage and Gulf wide body spec cars. You will need a balance pipe between the fuel tanks if one is not already fitted. Welcome aboard and enjoy the build!

As it is in South Africa perhaps a Botha chassis. Never seen one in person but heard they were very similar to GTD

The rear uprights do not look like GTD or KVA C type. They seem to be fabricated from steel sheet and are different to GTDs but have some similarities in layout. The suspension design using long trailing links is OK and as per original cars, GTDs, KVA C type, Tornado etc.
Are the hubs 4 or 5 bolt? The GTD and KVA C type used Ford Granada Mk3 rear hubs.
Pics of front suspension and uprights?
Cheers

Pretty sure it's a KCC body, with an altered chassis and suspension, and not the original suspension that was used in the earlier KCC Suspension, which comprised of Granada and Cortina suspension.Maybe an earlier Africa 40 build or as was mentioned, a Botha build. However,it's a good starting point, wish I could get hold of something like that here in South Africa.....

Don't beleive that to be a GTD chassis too many inconsistancies. If it were a GTD then there would be a chassis number stamped into the frame just under where that blue electrical tag is hanging in the picture showing the servo. The frame is quite different to a GTD frame both front and rear. Sorry can't be of more help.

Could it be a Roaring Forty? RF went to South Africa at the end of their run the first time. I believe some of the chassis went unfinished and ended up being sold off for the resulting legal issues ( I won't go into that here, but I believe that's over now and no longer a current question to concern you) It's not a GTD, CAV mono (but it could be an early space frame version) or a KCC and certainly not a Super performance 40.

I also could be a space frame car that got repaired with homemade rear suspension parts. That makes me think a CAV space frame that got hit in the rear/fixed? Maybe.................was it ever completed in its life?

Here is a lot of pictures of the current RF car for sale on BAT. The current RF does have a few differences from the original one but I believe the frame is pretty close to the original one.
