I was sad to hear Mr ''Momo'' Moretti had passed, since I was old enough to know anything about a car (for my generation at least) a Momo wheel was ''the'' wheel to have. In honor of my favorite wheel man, I write this post.
The steering column in my car was originally designed to have a larger steering wheel attached to it with a larger guy attached to that ham fisting a large luxury automobile through mid town traffic day after day. In my case at I not only desired a wheel more fitting the sportiness of it's surroundings but as I am apt to do I went a little extreme. After much searching, I found the wheel I liked and that fit the dash curvature best was a little Momo race wheel. I've long desired to use an alcantera covered race wheel in some car some day. Well that day has arrived, grazie Mr. Moretti.
After fitting the wheel to the car I found two things. First, that although I'm sure it works fine with a normal sized steering wheel the column bezel looked just massive in comparison to the demure Momo. Second, the windshield wiper stalk obstructed the center pod on the dash a little too much and again was made to look a bit large in comparison to the wheel.
With these challenges before me I once again decided to bite off more than I could chew and dove head first into my first use of clay in designing a part. Good thing it was a simple part. :smash:
