I came very close to immigrating to Australia myself back in 1970 when I got out of the Navy. I was a " BT-2 ".
I was a boiler tender on destroyers. I was offered a job there by Foster & Wheeler to train people to opperate boilers there. My step mother was from Sidney and she was all for it.
