Don't panic chaps......the changes in the spec of the kit (C5 suspension) required a total rework of the chassis subframes ..this takes time.

Sorry not trying to seem pushy I am just excited to see the masterpiece under the beautiful body work!! Will there be two sets of subframes offered pending on which setup is wanted? So a C5 setup or the superlite suspension setup?
I'm pretty sure the Apex will only use the C5 donor suspension to help keep entry costs down.
I think I remember reading that they would offer their own suspension as an option too! That's fine if that's what they do I just thought when he first said they were offering the c5 suspension stuff that he would also so their suspension with am up charge. Honestly I was just curious more than anything. With the weight that the car will probably come in at with a mid engine design I'm sure the car will still handle amazing and will still be a very capable track car.
Are those cutouts on both sides in the rear functional vents?
I actually didn't expect that based on some of the pre-paint images and the few pics of the grey car. Very cool!Yes they are

I've learned not to ask for updates but I hate to see this thread inactive so every so often I'll ask a question I've had :thumbsup:Haha I wondered the same thing awhile ago but I figured I have bugged Fran enough already with my questions and asking about any updates. I love how every so often we learn something new about the car that just makes it that much more BA and proof of the quality superlite has over the competition.
I might have a subject that will keep this thread on top for a while; how about the different drivetrain options (I know the only two supported by RCR are the 4G63 and the Grand Prix V8 with auto tranny). I think a nice high revving NA K20/K24 build making 250-300 WHP would be awesome. Any manual transverse drivetrain suggestions…. Something like the Honda Accord VTEC V6, or any transverse V8 with manual transmission (I can't think of any). What would you think would be the biggest challenge? Axle alignment/compatibility, rear suspension geometry modification, mounting location, wiring etc ( I know we are shooting in the dark without any dimension but at least you (and mostly I) won't suffer from depression by seeing this thread without any new post for a week). I know it would be even more work to allow for a different drivetrain but making a custom car is all about creating yourself a lot of work to have a car you like. (we all know it would be much simpler to buy for under 35k$ a used Boss 302, a Vette or even a modded Miata )
So two questions in one post. What drivetrain and what forseen issues.
Cheers!
