Do you have power and torque curves for the engine? It might be a bit more revealing to superimpose them over the road load plot to find out which transmission is better fitted to the vehicle.

How many people are using non-ford derived engines in their projects? I am half considering using a tuned Audi 4.2L V8 in my project; has anyone tried this?

I also read that the 01X is sort of difficult to get here in the states. I read that the more powerful engines here (4.2L v8 and TDI) are all QUATTRO in the US. Is there any validity to this? Does anyone know a good source for 01X transmissions?
