Hi All,
After about six months of procrastinating, I've finally come to grips with listing my beloved CAV GT for sale. It's truly a fabulous car and I've enjoyed it immensely but I need to make room for some other car projects. A few details:
This car was professionally built as a...
Hi Wally,
No I've gotten everything torn apart but haven't found the time to put it back together yet or obtain the stub axles. I just queried CAV-america on the price/delivery for factory units and am awaiting a response.

Chris,
Thanks for the feedback. You could be right about the nut being overly tight; I doubt overly loose as I check for slop quite often.
I didn't note it in my original post but the wheel bearing is toast. I haven't removed it yet so I don't know if the bearing failure caused the stub...
I'm looking for some help in identifying the manufacturer and P/N for a replacement stub shaft which I managed to cleanly twist off during some spirited driving (the half shaft, inner and outer CV joints all appear to be in fine shape so I'm hoping to just replace the splined stub shaft and...
I solved my own problem. I found a company, EPCO (www.epcomfg.com) that can make a nostalgic looking white or black shift knob with a euro style 6-speed shift pattern (reverse up to left). I have not ordered one but the prices seem reasonable. Apparently, they make billiard balls and branched...
If anyone has a set of 15" BRM style wheels and tires (preferrably vintage race type tires Avons, Michelin, Goodyear) for sale please let me know. I'm not sure of the offsets but this is for a CAV with the wider Gulf rear end.

Does any have for sale (or know of a source) for a vintage looking white shift knob with the pattern engraved on the knob? (for Audi transmission, reverse up and to the left)?

Does anyone have any recent experience in getting their GT registered & inspected in PA? I am looking to buy a used GT that is already registered (and maybe inspected) in another state and would like to understand what difficulties others may have had. From what I can gather, the big deal...
Has anyone had any luck retrofitting their GT with ATL or Fuel Safe fuel cells for safety? (custom sized or off the shelf). I'd be interested in hearing about the ins/outs - one of my big concerns is frontal impacts and the resulting geiser of fuel that comes out of the fuel cap/neck.
Thanks, I agree. I'm a pretty good mechanic but I really don't have the time to be doing too much 'sorting'. I want to buy something the I can drive and enjoy without putting much time into it.
I am seriously interested in purchasing a finished (with engine/driveline) GT40 MK1 replica and would appreciate advice on the in's & out's of the various manufacturers. I've read quite a bit of the threads here but I'm still not clear on which one would be best for me. For me, the following is...
