    GT40s at Goodwood Revival 2013

    Another update to account for the realization that the ficticious P/1101 is actually the rebodied M3/1101 (see here). Whitsun Trophy entrants (n=28) #1 -- GT105 prototype -- Huff | Meins #2 -- GT40 P/1062 -- David Hart | Hans Hugenholtz #3 -- GT40 P/1024 -- EFX 226C -- Albuquerque |...

    Which is the real M3/1101...?

I went back to the source of those photos to verify the timeframe when they were taken. As it happens, the photos were taken in Nov 2004 but were posted online in Jun 2013. Oops.

    GT40s at Goodwood Revival 2013

    Yep, looks like I double counted P/1019. Blame that darned Goodwood website full of pics from previous events. Whitsun Trophy entrants (n=28) #1 -- GT105 prototype -- Huff | Meins #2 -- GT40 P/1062 -- David Hart | Hans Hugenholtz #3 -- GT40 P/1024 -- EFX 226C -- Albuquerque | Franklin #4 --...

    GT40s at Goodwood Revival 2013

    Thanks for the input, Allan. Did I capture your point about 1046 and 1008 lookalikes accurately in the revised list below? Whitsun Trophy entrants (n=28) #1 -- GT105 prototype -- Huff | Meins #2 -- GT40 P/1062 -- David Hart | Hans Hugenholtz #3 -- GT40 P/1024 -- EFX 226C -- Albuquerque |...

    GT40s at Goodwood Revival 2013

Thanks again. The photos I had of #3 (P/1018) were from the Goodwood Revival website as well, so are probably from a previous year's event. The list now total 41 cars, 28 in the race and 13 others on the grounds.

    GT40s at Goodwood Revival 2013

Thanks for the input, Jos. Hopefully I've incorporated your changes properly; if not, let me know. I came across this photo on the Goodwood Revival website, purportedly from this year's event. It shows a pale blue #14. Was this car really at this year's event, or is this an old photo of...

    GT40s at Goodwood Revival 2013

I was not able to attend the Revival, but have been trying to piece together this info from photos posted to the Interwebs, and from this thread. I'll post what I have now and would invite people who were actually there to make changes/corrections. I'll edit the list as we go along (provided...

    Fraud or really Exoto?

I had the exact same reaction as you. At first I thought it was a phishing scam. Then, when I found out it was company policy for first-time customers, I just thought it was annoying. Never had any other online vendor do that. But the worse may be yet to come. Now that I've ordered from...

    Fraud or really Exoto?

This happened to me as well, but the good news is that it's legit. Phone Exoto and ask for Shane and you can confirm. IMO the bigger question is to confirm that Exoto actually has the model in stock. If it is you should be fine. But if it's a back order or preorder, get ready for a...

M3/1103 featured in Octane magazine (Jul 2013)

Jim, the online article is dated July 2013, but it would seem that the print article is from the January 2013 issue as Barry wrote. I don't have a copy so assumed the website was the same. Sorry 'bout that.

SAAC 38 Pictures and Bob Bondurant

I heard it was P/1058 and is owned by Peter Klutt of Legendary Motorcar. IIRC, the Kirkham Daytona Coupe starts at $175,000 USD plus drivetrain.

I believe Bondurant's GT40 is from ERA Replicas. I saw it at the Monterey Historics in 2012.

    Which is the real M3/1101...?

I came across some photos from a special Shelby exhibit at the Saratoga Springs Auto Museum that includes a yellow MkIII. The sign accompanying the car identifies it as chassis M3/1101 (the LHD prototype) belonging to Nick Soprano of Motor Classic and Competition Corp., White Plains NY...

MkIII road car: Real or replica?

It's a real beauty, Fred. Is it yours? Do you know which manufacturer produced it? GTD? KVA? Other?

MkIII road car: Real or replica?

Thanks for the input. I checked the SAAC registry when I got home from work yesterday and, even though the book is nearly five years old now, this car didn't match any of the RHD MkIIIs.
