    Wheels and Rear Clamshell Width

Help on drawings or dimensions on the rear upright would be greatly appreciated. Not looking to copy anything directly as I need dimensions to at least evaluate more currently and USA available bearing assemblies is my actual goal.

    Wheels and Rear Clamshell Width

Bob thanks for your insight. Any help on rear uprights? I'm searching for general dimensions so I can design with readily available hub bearing assembly like Corvette C5/C6 (or a Ford that is similar) and get away from the older Ford UK stuff that's not very available here in the USA.

    Wheels and Rear Clamshell Width

That is very nice. Can you share what front arms you used upper and lower? Is that at afco lower as well. I used to race a local circle track and bought afco arms from speedway many years ago. Lots of choices though and looks like you've already figured it out. Is that your design on the rear...

    Wheels and Rear Clamshell Width

Thank you Mike. I may take you up on that. Right now I'm trying to find rear upright drawing or dimensions so I can fabricate some to start the process on the rear. GTFORTE.co.uk is the only place I see them available and everyone has told me not do business with them so feeling a little stuck.

    Wheels and Rear Clamshell Width

Thanks for the link. I want to look at using mustang 2 spindles so this software can help me. With this I can compare a lot of things but trying to decide between stock height and 2 inch drop spindles. I can simulate both. I'm trying to use components common here in the states.

    Wheels and Rear Clamshell Width

Thanks and I have a collection of parts. Right now the chassis is a GTD but it is bare, I have to make the suspension arms.

    Wheels and Rear Clamshell Width

Since I'm based in the US, I'm looking at Vintage and Trigo for wheels. I have used the Trigo in the past on a Cobra. The Vintage BR are 15x8 and 15x10 with 4 inch backspace. The Trigo are 1/2 inch narrower on both with a 3.6 inch backspace. I'd like to hear comments on those sizes and...

That's pretty cool, we're a little less than 3 hours apart. I live in Eutawville, SC Maybe sometime I could take a look in person if that's OK?

Thanks Malcom. He has a lot of stuff including molds of a GTD with widebody "Gulf Style" rear. I have not committed to get the molds but I have gotten a few things. The windshield fits the roof spider I got from him that was GTD but it also fits a roof spider I got from Jay Cushman that I was...

I'm in the USA and I may have located an unbuilt GTD chassis. I'll know more in a week or so.

    GT Developments

I posted recently that I acquired a windshield that was for a GTD car. When I bought the windshield the guy gave me some doors, rockers and roof spider. He reached back out to me and says he has some other GTD stuff. I'm not that familiar with GTD. I know they are no longer around. Can...

    Windshield info

He wouldn't sell me one either. He replied a few times saying he would check to see what he had but never confirmed if he did or not. I got these from someone that built a GT many years ago and these were his spares

Well I picked it up. It was pretty cheap and fairly local. He threw in some leftovers he collected. I got a pair of doors and rockers and a roof spider mold. Here are a couple pics of the windshield labels. I'll fit it to my spider in the next week or two and see if it fits

    Windshield info

I have a roof spider that is supposed to be a splash of the original. I got it from Jay Cushman. I have a chance to pick up a GTD/GT Developments windshield for a pretty good price. Does anyone know if the GTD windshield was accurate to the original?

    Chassis options

My front and rear clamshells were racing spares for P1027 (and were vintage raced on the car). While just a copy of the originals from 1027, I really don't want to modify them to fit a chassis. I'll modify the chassis to fit them. But options for a chassis seem pretty limited.

    Chassis options

I posted before about the body I have, it's very close to original specs. I had planned on building a chassis from scratch but time has not been on my side. I did a little research and it looks like Chris Arden with Arden Cars/Active power will sell just a chassis, as will the following...

    302 Oil Pan

The title kind of says it all. What are you using for oil pan for 302? I have a 67 302 out of a mustang and the stock oil pan is pretty deep. Just researching what others have done.. Thanks
