    Wheel Alignment Info Needed....

So that turned out easier than expected. The Hunter rep installed a custom profile with the specs from RCR's GT40 manual and the operator gave me a printout of how far off I was. I have to say, with string lines and a laser level, I got pretty close. A little more fine tuning should get me...

    Wheel Alignment Info Needed....

Thanks, guys. Good suggestions. I was able to contact a representative from Hunter the manufacturer of the alignment rack and he helped the operator create a custom profile using the specs from RCR. I’m doing the alignment tomorrow morning and will post how it goes.

    Wheel Alignment Info Needed....

Hello! I want to put my RCR GT40 Widebody on an alignment rack. I did all of my alignments at home with stringlines and laser levels and am pretty confident things are close to where they need to be. A double check of my work with a real alignment rack to give me a print out would give me a...

    Avon 15-26-15 Tire Needed....

Thanks Brian… That’s correct and Roger is who I’m using to get the new ones. He has stock on the softer compound Avon’s but I’m looking to get the harder compound for the new tires, hence the 4 month wait. The tires I have on the car now are a bit long in the tooth even though they have good...

    Avon 15-26-15 Tire Needed....

So I lost pressure in one of my rear Avons while driving and it rendered it unusable. I'm going to order a whole new set but my supplier won't get them from England until Feb. In the mean time, does anyone have a decent used 15-26-15 Avon I can buy to tide me over until the new ones arrive? I...

    Snap Vent Placement...

Ron, I had a feeling B wouldn't function very well, although I've seen a lot of cars with it installed there. Kim

    Snap Vent Placement...

Thanks for your replies! It makes me more courageous to drill into the main part of the window. I'm liking position A as well, no side vision obstruction and in front of the driver and passenger for more direct air flow. My only concern with A is whether it will direct too much flow to the...

    Snap Vent Placement...

Thanks Ryan, I have seen a lot of cars with position C and was wondering the same about obscuring side vision. It is, however, positioned to not interfere with the view of the side rear view mirrors. Kim

    Snap Vent Placement...

I’m trying to decide the best placement for the snap vents in my side windows. I’ve read all of the threads regarding these vents but wonder what opinions might be out there about the best placement. Obviously, putting them in the small vent doors would be the easiest and less frightening...

    RCR GT40 THROTTLE ISSUES...

Thanks Paul, The center cable is a stranded wire but it is fairly thick. It is a Lokar brand cable and a high-quality cable...Stainless steel casing with a Teflon center tube. Good for a straight pull but not great for going around the small circumference of the bell crank. My initial set up...

    Rear Clip Locating Pins...

I didn't consider it as helping with an impact. I thought their function was more for keeping things in alignment. I do have a 1/2" stainless steel pin in the center of the clip as well as the Hartwell latches. Kim

    Rear Clip Locating Pins...

I'm finishing the last details of my RCR GT40 and have a question regarding the rear clip locating pins. I only installed the front 2 pins on the rear clip thinking I would do the other 2 at this point in time. I have driven the car for 300 miles with a couple of track days and haven't noticed...

    RCR GT40 THROTTLE ISSUES...

After working a couple of days on my throttle issues, here’s an update. I moved the cable attachment point as far as the design of the pedal would allow in the direction that would give me more pull force.(see photos). This improved pedal pressure to an acceptable level and syncing with the...

    RCR GT40 THROTTLE ISSUES...

Thanks, Ian. I know what you mean as far as clearance at the pivot. I worked all day yesterday trying to adapt a portion of a coil spring to work as your's did but all it did was cause binding under the pivot. I abandoned the idea and realized I didn't really need a spring at the pedal.

    RCR GT40 THROTTLE ISSUES...

Ricky, Thanks for your reply. I've already adjusted my drive links to the shortest length they can be. By shortening do you mean you machined them even shorter? Kim

    RCR GT40 THROTTLE ISSUES...

Thanks Paul, In #2 you mentioned tweeking the linkage leverages. Are you talking about the linkage at the bell crank or the pedal and cable? Kim

    RCR GT40 THROTTLE ISSUES...

Thanks Ian! I'll work on the car again when things cool off here. Its 111 degrees and I don't have any cooling in my garage. With the early pedal box, to get more force, would I move the cable connection closer to the pivot point? I assumed I would move it away to get more leverage but with...

    RCR GT40 THROTTLE ISSUES...

Thanks everyone for your valuable input, tons of good info, much appreciated! I spoke with Ed who is the Borla tech adviser for the 8 stake intakes and he acknowledged the heavy spring issue with the intake. So I decided that better pedal geometry is what will improve the heavy pedal issue...

    RCR GT40 THROTTLE ISSUES...

Tom, The added spring was a coil. Is that physically possible...to pull the throttle closed and at a certain point open? It sure would be the answer but I'd have to see a diagram on the placement to understand how that could work. Kim
