    Steering column and AC questions

Thanks Cam and Dan. I looked on line today for the lever and found a part number I thought was it - stopped by the local Chevy Dealer and saw it wasn't. Will order this one now I know the number. Got the hardware for the plastic cover. Was going to work some more this weekend but have to put...

    Steering column and AC questions

Thanks Dan. Will take a look at your pictures. Been years since I sweat pipe but.... Thanks Ron. I did the 10-24 trick and now will grab some metric screws. Now I just have to track down a lever for the tilt. Will be working some this weekend while I wait for Irms.

    Steering column and AC questions

Just getting started pulling things apart, but wanted to see how a couple things fit leading to a few questions: 1. I ordered my kit with the Vintage Auto Air system and the under dash unit I received is different than the pictures in the manual. I managed to rotate the bottom fitting as...

    Mike's Build

I will do likewise. Last Saturday I couldn't get more than an hour in before I had to jump in the pool to cool off. Florida is pretty bad this time of year.

    Mike's Build

I intend to take weights as I go just out of curiosity. If there is any info you want, just let me know. I like the idea of motivation to keep it going. My last project stalled a few times and it wasn't without an external kick in the pants that got it going again - that's why it took 8 years...

    Race Tail Body Mounting

Thanks Cam. Those pictures and description really help. I am probably a few months from getting things to a point where I am aligning the body and wheels but just from looking at how it is attached I have room to move things just within the spacers that are installed. I will be posting...

    Race Tail Body Mounting

Thanks. I have access to the manual, but don't have any strips of aluminum to mount the tail or anything to mount the diffuser. I have some aluminum brackets that I couldn't figure out what they were - I think now they are the bobbin for mounting the body. My packing list shows a back ordered...

    Race Tail Body Mounting

Been staring at this for a while and can't quite figure it all out. I have an SL-C with a race tail and was looking to see if someone has some pictures of the mounting of the diffuser and the hinging of the tail. My diffuser brackets are back ordered and I don't have any hinges or brackets for...

    Mike's Build

Now I know why they call them Superlite - put the rolling chassis on the scales with the body, weighed in at 1340 lb. Distribution 52% front/48% rear. Going to check periodically through the build. Pulling the body off this weekend so I can start the chassis build. Have a few things on back...

    Sound Insulation

Thanks Dan. That was my thought - spray the tub early in the build to minimize the need to mask anything off. Will also do the inside of the doors and the body around the cooling/heater hoses. I already have the sprayer for it so only have to buy the materials.

    Sound Insulation

I have seen several posts about stick on sound insulation but haven't seen any on spray on. I have used Lizard Skin in the past for both sound and heat insulation with good results. Has anyone used this on an SL-C and were there any issues?

That problem can't come soon enough. Can't wait to drive it. Long way to go. Has anyone put on on the scales to get the weight distribution on a street prspared SL-C?

    SL-C Side Skirts Question

Thanks. Any suggestions on how to mount them? Was thinking of just tapping some holes in the bottom of the tub extension.

    SL-C Side Skirts Question

Does anyone have a picture or instructions on how to fit/mount the side skirts on an SL-C. Couldn't find it in the manual or the wiki. I received what I believe to be both sides molded in one piece that it appears needs to be cut in half to install.

Lift is a EZ Car Lift. Have had it for a while and have lifted everything from my wife's SUV to my Charger with it. It uses a 1/2" electric drill for power to raise/lower so it is pretty light and can be stowed easily. I think they are rated to 4400 lb although when you get close to the limit...

    Mike's Build

Cover is from a 2005 NSX. I have the same issue with a 3 car garage that I clean up nightly to put in my wife's car. Is especially tough when I am welding and grinding which I did a lot of on the last project. This one should be a bit cleaner. The wheels also lets me push it up to the wall...

    Mike's Build

Before it got too hot to work in the garage, found out that a cover for an Acura NSX fits pretty good and came up with an adjustable height movable platform to work on. Time to go in the pool and cool off!

    Mike's Build

Arrived this morning. Still working inventory - there are a few brackets I need to figure out but all seems to be there. May need some help if I can't figure it out soon. Still removing tape residue, waiting for it to cool off tonight to finish. Thing looks lower and wider in the garage...
