Wiring fans to both come on for AC or Engine

You don't need diodes to prevent backfeed with the Infinitybox system, though as Alan pointed out, it's a good strategy with a conventional harness. The stock fans only draw 8 amps, IIRC, so you could actually run both outputs to the fans, which are wired in parallel. Use a 20 amp fuse in the...

Hyperfest- SLC to contest UTCC and NASA TT

Ed D and I are going to Hyperfest this year, mostly to see the Raver Motorsports SLC run at the Ultimate Track Car Championship. Their car is likely the fastest SLC ever, and they hope to do well with it this year. Last year (on Sunday, after the UTCC) they ran a 1:48, which is a very quick...

    Fling SLC Build Thread

Can you show pics of this? When I tried this, the effort to pull the pin was too great when seated in the car. But I'd really be happy to be shown how it can be made to work!

    Dan's Build

Most all of the cars have a scratch-resistant coating that is very good. If you somehow do manage to scratch one, you won't be able to polish it out without removing the coating and getting to the raw material underneath- which pretty much destroys the window. My car is one of the earlier...

    Which battery?

Anyone who has an Infinitybox system with a Powercell mounted on the rear bulkhead, as I do, has a set of LEDs that are on whenever the system is up- so I do have a way of telling whether it's on or not. The problem is that I sometimes I had forgotten to check, or more often, when it was at a...

    Which battery?

My car has a similar (or maybe the same?) solenoid, which in my case is operated by a keyed switch. But if it is accidentally left in the "on" position...

    Which battery?

I'm on my second battery for my car, soon to be the third, and am wondering if I should change to a different kind. Like many SLCs, my car has the Infinitybox system which has a pretty substantial drain on the battery when on. Even with their InReserve, my battery gets flattened unless the...

    My drivetrain choice...

If it's for a street car, I think you will be unhappy. I doubt you will find any 2 liter engine making 685 HP with street manners. Or bombproof, for that matter! This isn't always a popular view, but personally, I think much more than 500-600 HP in an SLC doesn't make for a fun car on the...

Kit Car Builder & Forum Sponsor Checking In!

Welcome, Tino. I've been following the progress of your display system since the beginning on the GTM forums, and hope you build a version that works in the smaller confines of the SLC dash. The feature set is pretty robust, and the ability to customize the screen is cool!

LS7 with Dailey dry sump- AC compressor mount?

I think the first person to use a Dailey dry sump and an AC compressor was probably Stage7. Maybe you could query him and find out what he did. I know he worked the problem for quite a while and was proud of the result. His SLC recently sold at BJ for close to a record amount for an SLC.

    Master Cylinder Sizes

The assembly manual has exactly those instructions re the correct MC sizes, as well as a detailed discussion of how and why to set the clutch limit stop. Perhaps you don't have access to the current manual? For all SLC builders, the only official manual is the online one, accessible from the...
