    A friend of mine is fitting the new Motec to his GT40.... says its very good, he is using fly by wire and all sorts, if you can afford Motec go that way.

    Anyone ever have to trouble-shoot Smith's electronic speedo?

    Digging this old post up.... I had a Speedhut speedo fitted and working in my GT40 and have just swapped to the Smiths GT40 speedo. Im having trouble setting up the speedo to read the Audi 01E Speed sensor. The speed sensor is an inductive low voltage unit. I have the Smiths White/black wire...

    Ha Haa yeah....The car is also featured in Forged Mag as well. I spend most of my time on FB these days. Im currently upgrading the seats, dash, and gauges at the moment. I also have the car for sale but not much interest.

    Audi 01E gear shifter

    Roger I had to do the same with my Audi 5000 shifter, you trim it a little and adjust the linkages to get enough throw,plus I had to make a reverse lockout. The RF shifter is really nice.

    I didnt know that cableshift did an 01E shifter now,I had a look on their webpage and its not advertised. I have a modified 016 (audi 5000) cableshift for my 01E and it required a bit of modification to work reliably. Maybe its an RCR version

    Oh well good to know that if you eBay score GT parts that they can be intergrated into the RCR variant. Loving the build and good reference for future Builders.
