Thank you james patton cav 82

John, Great to see some more Georgians in the GT 40 crowd. There are a fair number here in the mostly Atlanta area. As soon as you get the car would be great to hook up. I am in Snellville and grew up in Marietta. So I know the area pretty well. Hope some of the others will chime in. You should...

    In need of a windscreen???

What all of you guys need to remember is that the curvature for the screens is different from brand of 40. That was the problem I was having using Dan's screens. The difference isn't too bad and just needs extra sealant if you are willing to put up with that. Is noticeable but takes a good look...

    In need of a windscreen???

Richard, It has been several years since I ordered one from Dan. Got no response from emails to him. That is why I went on this journey. Dave, See Jacks post. That also is why I went on this journey and selected Desman. They were close and I didn't have to worry about breakage and insurance...

    In need of a windscreen???

Yes I did. Every one of them. I am happy with my choice even though it was expensive. I don't plan on repainting so the screen is somewhat safe from my endeavors!!! I had lost contact with an independent seller of the screens. His come from South Africa and would fit other brands better than...

Gone for 10 years... Getting into a RCR40

Grady, Consider putting an insulated piece of aluminum that angles down from the rear of the tray that when the rear clip is closed it is between the fuel line and the exhaust. I am working on a solution to the hot air to the injectors. It involves Lexan and I want the high heat from an exhaust...

    In need of a windscreen???

Recently I had need of a windshield. Long story.... The small crack I had in the screen had extended to the base of the screen so it was time to get one. Knowing that there is a difference between makes of GT 40s I set out to live with the differences. The differences are the final curvature of...

    Inertia switch or not ?

Bob, They are needed. If you have a shunt and the fuel line become ruptured you have 10-40 gallons a minute flowing who knows where. Ineria means moving and in this case, a hit by another or thing, you want the pumps to stop. They work in rollovers as well. Here is the one I use like the one...

    Work table

Bill, If you are a DIY kinda guy then you can build a frame yourself. that is what I did. Here are some glimpses of the frame. Explanation after the pics. I had to build a support so I could do angle TIG welding and not vertical. I used leftovers from a deck project and was...

    Oil filter relocation

Looks like you have an additional port on the remote that can be adapted to the oil pressure and/or temp. If you search for remote oil filters you should be able to find one like this or change yours to look like it. You have the filter underneath and two ins and two outs(arrows). On one of the...

    Rick's RCR GT40

I did mine in Linex and am very pleased with it. As they said it is a little rougher than the Por 15. I also did the interior of the bonnet and the front clip supports which are hard rubber. They now are a little stiffer. I think it is a great alternative to just paint. Bill

    Into/Weird build proposal

Dan, I have been interested in E Power for several years and have contemplated converting mine once I retire as cost of upkeep to my current car will be curtailed once that happens next year. So I may sell my engine/drivetrain and convert it. Long story short, I have researched this quite...

Heat and Sound Control - Simultaneously

Mine isn't just Dynamat but a combination like Scott's. On large flat surfaces like the firewall you have to be careful how you lay it out. I used mainly Dynamat with the foil backing behind the seats. This surface does not get hot when driving at any outside temps so far. I think it is more...

Heat and Sound Control - Simultaneously

I used Dynamat products and have to say they are great at both sound and heat. Usually get some decent prices on Ebay. Some are leftovers and can be had for a good price. It won't be seen so you can piece it together. Bill
