Docking Radiators Have you had a Failure?

Just one more comment, the pipe stubs are a little smaller diameter than the Docking so make sure you use tubing which is a snug fit.

Docking Radiators Have you had a Failure?

Hi Phil, I plugged them for now, but before I did that I found that they weren't drilled through. So to create a bleed point I drilled them through and plugged them with a 6mm bolt and copper washer. In the course of filling the system, I used one to allow air out of the rad. Dave

    Engine / gearbox sandwich plate.

Hi Andy, I just enjoyed your videos and it was good to see the man behind the story. Regarding your comments on steel versus alloy timing cover, you might like to see the weights that I measured when I changed mine. Look forward to the next video. Iron Al Saving Heads 2 x 26.4 2...

    Throttle Cable

I replaced my cable with a similar one from Car Builder solutions after the last one was melted on a rolling road. This one has far too much friction, so I've ordered a teflon lined kit from Venhill.

Docking Radiators Have you had a Failure?

Question about the bleed tappings. I have now mounted this rad and wondering what to do with the two small threaded connections at the top. I will likely plug one of them and install a bleed on the other, either a bleed valve or a hose run back to the expansion tank. A 6mm thread seems to fit...

Docking Radiators Have you had a Failure?

Update, New Radiator arrived today from GPI Racing in Holland. Ordered on Tuesday arrived on Friday, cost £165 with free postage. Overall dimensions and mounting brackets are very similar to the Docking so it will be an easy replacement, slightly smaller, with an extra bleed tapping and a couple...

Docking Radiators Have you had a Failure?

Pete, yes, my original radiator had that mounting, and I agree that it does eliminate those effects. I note that Radtech in Cannock (incidentally where I attended school all those years ago) are OEM radiator suppliers to Koenigsegg which has to say something about their quality. When I fitted...

Docking Radiators Have you had a Failure?

Randy, brazing or welding shut was rejected as an option, because the repair shops experience was that for this type of radiator, the heat input would certainly cause it to leak elsewhere, the only certain option would be to cut the tanks off leaving the backplate on, then weld every tube (not...

Docking Radiators Have you had a Failure?

I took my radiator to a local company (Star Radiators in Glasgow) who seem to have a good reputation for radiator repair. They tested and confirmed it was leaking where I thought it was. They said that this type of radiator requires an epoxy repair, as any attempts to weld gives too much thermal...

    the right braking system

Hi H.J, Front Wilwood Superlite 4 Pot, rear, with Hispec Billet 4 all with 310mm (12.19 in) discs worked for me, no servos. I thought about 6 pots, but thought that that would definitely require servos due to the smaller total piston area. After having Servo issues I preferred to select for a...

    the right braking system

I managed 310mm rotors front and rear. Fronts with Wilwood Superlite 4 pots and rear with Hispec Billet 4. The wheels are 3 piece 3/32" alloy so internal diameter is sufficent. If using cast wheels, I think diameter would be smaller. Links below Rear Brake thread Front Brake thread Dave

    DAX40 Return to the Road

Just reducing clutch master from 7/8" to 3/4" as it's too heavy. At the same time repainting pedal support frame with engine paint as the original paint had suffered from fluid spillage. Also painting throttle brackets. Dave

Any body seen the movie Le Mans 66?

Haven't seen it myself yet, but I found an excellent documentary on Netflix, called the 24 Hour War which I think is essential watching. It covers the whole story and has plenty of period footage and interviews. Davee
