My GTD club mags have been borrowed for reference, but if I remember correctly there is an article or two about shocks and more importantly spring rates for GTDs, Andrew in particular having good luck with an Eibach dual rate spring set up. Not sure of the particulars, perhaps one of the GTD...

He is likely looking at the number cast into the case just ahead of the right hand drive flange. It may be a serial number???my R-21 from Mach I in the Uk has the number 700599238 on it in addition to the tag mentioned above. Brian
