Have a search for "knurled brass inserts for plastic panels". They won't rust and, unlike Rivnuts, have a knurled outer designed to be bonded into ABS plastic or GRP.
I haven't fitted my side windows yet, but my plan is to use these bonded inserts and, since the windows are very lightweight...
And maybe consider a normally-open solenoid valve between the pressure side of the circuit (close to carb) returning to one of the tanks. With ignition on, the valve closes allowing 6-8psi to build (depending on your carb requirements) and with ignition off any residual pressure is vented back...
Hi Brandon
With both pumps connected via a Y piece, is there anything to stop pressure created by the active pump returning to the tank via the inactive pump? Or are you running both together, all the time? Or adding non-return valves to prevent this behaviour?
@Jim C Funnily enough I've been thinking about using one of these (PTC?) elements for a while; I guess it'll suck quite a few amps in operation, and you'll only want it to be powered-up while a fan is running to maintain some airflow over it?

I am starting on trial body and dash fitting and have found that when the dashboard top sits flat on the upper part of the chassis, the ends of the dashboard which extend down to the sill are way off vertical. Since a picture paints a thousand words, here are 2000-words-worth...

I'd also be tempted to have separate fuses / relays for right and left dip/main so that in the event of a fuse blowing or relay failing you'd only lose one side of your lighting, not be left in complete darkness....at night....on a winding road....with an owl!
@Eddw5493 When I fitted a concentric hydraulic slave on a previous car build I used a Saab 99 concentric slave and turned an adapter ring to mate between the gearbox bolt pattern and the base of the slave cylinder. The whole assembly took the place of the release bearing guide tube, which...
You have blown my tiny mind! I had no idea that this type of technology was available for less than the cost of a Gigafactory. Looking forward to future posts showcasing what can be achieved. Thanks.
Just spotted this pair of Simca SEV Marchal N.O.S. headlamps on eBay UK....might be of use to someone? They appear to have a lever arrangement to switch between left-dip / right-dip.

No connection with vendor. Just my usual Friday browsing of the small...
Didn't Eric Broadley prefer a rivetted aluminium mono, but Ford wanted a steel chassis to provide a (spurious) marketing tie-in with the upcoming Mustang? And so the GT40 was saddled with a slight weight penalty from the outset and broke transmissions and cooked brakes from the get-go? There's a...
Sorry for the "radio silence". Change in personal circumstances mean that I haven't touched the car for a year. During that time, Mick has fully retired and sold Southern GT, and I need to re-plan the budget (or lack thereof).
