Hi, Bought years ago new original type wiring harness for mk1 -65 289" historic race car, which is (slowly) being built, but it came without diagram. I have SAE-papers for mk2, but somewhat surprisingly it`s diagrams doesn't help much. The seller of the wiring harness cannot be contacted...

Been lately more in garage than playing with PC... Some progress with Historic Period F 289" race car, this weekend she`ll get her heart :)

I once got drawings of original 289" flywheel (2/3 -plate clutch) from some kind person here. However, seems I lost drawings some time ago due broken PC. Search function didn`t give any real results. Ideas where to get; time to make one very soon :embarassed: Waterpump; which type pump...

Any idea of 40`s VIN? Car in front is P5 Taunus (64-67), and i think truck is Scania Taken in Keminmaa from telephone pole at truck drives home after night halt, Finland, spring of -66 or -67 i guess. GT went to Rovaniemi, for local Ford dealer`s car show. White stuff is snow :)

Doc, I`m working with mk1 HTP at the moment. Seems to me too FIA really have tighten the rules. Driveshafts; You are right, doughnuts. Wasn`t the uprights first aluminium, later magnesium? However, no magnesium is the way here too, if possible. I got one 65 hi po 289 block, but didn`t check it...

Brian, trying to choose the wheels very long time; I think You just gave me answer... Thanks! :thumbsup: I like idea of the 3-pcs wheels; you can choose width and ET-reading (backspace) exactly right with them, but like You, don`t like the gap, flatness and rear wheel "barrel look".

I think Stephen wrote it just right in this: It does not 'belong' to a single chassis, it represents the GT40 model Car manufacturer "fills" the homologation papers and proofs the production figures to FIA when it wants to homologate car for the specific competition group. Original papers, 2...

Maybe I lost something, but.... 20K for homologation papers!? Ordered mine from local FIA historic guy and I think I paid something like 40 $ /30 €.

Jim, thanks! Found the photo and stared it for a while, then suddenly realized the car is -in- the crash when saw the "bonnet" and rh fender in the air. Sad action, but classic photo. Hope the driver was ok too.
