    GT40 Graveyard!!!

I can confirm that the burnt chassis is 1070 as I currently run the car. The original tub is in the possession of the owner and will stay with the car if ever sold on. And yes, although the car was fairly comprehensively destroyed there are a couple of parts recovered that were reusable, despite...

    Suspension Parts

Hi all. I have for sale a set of suspeension parts from a Superformance GT40 Mk1. We are converting the car to full FIA spec so have replaced a lot of parts. Trying to sell as set, so don't really want to split. Maybe suit someone starting on a new build or looking to upgrade. We have:- 2x...

    LOLA T70 scratch build...

O.K. Here's my 2 bits. All of the original 16 mk3b's had grey painted tubs. They were painted on external surfaces only. Any internal area's were left raw. The only cars with nickel plated steelwork and polished sheetwork were the 78-82 continuation run by Lola. This was to distinguish between...

    Lola Question

The 10 chassis built in the 70's were all mk3b, so completely different to your mk2 chassis. It is possible that Lola farmed out the job as I'm fairly certain they would have got rid of most of the chassis/jig fittings by then.

    Lola Question

Probably a bit late on this thread but I thought I may be able to shed some light on this. The 'official' continuation cars announced by Lola in 2005 were built under licence by Clive Robinson and final assembly only took part at Lola's factory. Chris fox had no involvement in these cars so...

    London motor museum.

Hi all. A friend of mine has been offered a deal for a GT 40 replica currently on display in the london mm. Only seen pictures so far but looks to have a mk3 style front with 4 round headlamps, finished in white with blue stripes, reg 140NMM. Does anybody know this car, or can anyone identify...

    On Board Silverstone Classic

HI Ian, Always good to put faces to names, and nice to speak with fellow enthusiasts. It's a part of the job that I quite enjoy, as you have to have a certain passion to spend the hours on these things that we sometimes do. We'll be at Donnington with the T70 and the GT40 for the 4 hour event...

    Goodwood Revival

Was good to with a few people from this and other forums over the weekend. unfortunately, gearbox probs in qually put us down the field and proved to be unsolvable at the track. We started the race but the owner, Richard, decided to retire the car rather than cause further damage to the car...

    Help locating used race tires

I'd try Dunlop 'M' section racing tyres. Used in most Historic series and range covers up to 10" wide in 13" diameter, and would give a good period correct look.

Getting in and out of a RCR T70 Coupe

Easiest way, if you have the forward hinging Mk3b doors, is to open the door, step over sidepod into the seat and slide on down. Not quite so easy with the Mk3 door, you have to kind of back yourself in :) Darren

    LOLA T70 scratch build...

Glad to see you made the hole's a decent size :) It sure helps when you're trying to fit the tank filler neck in there. As the other guys have said, the disc's should actually float on the bells, even have a bit of a rattle, but as long as they're not binding they'll soon free up. Anyway...

Hi Marcus. Glad to see things progressing. Hope you're not going to forget to put the holes for the fuel filler in that dash panel before you fit it.... Darren

    RCR Lola T70 Front Suspension

thinking about this thread at work yesterday, so had a quick measure of the Dunlop's on the 3b. Fronts are 4.30/11.6x15 which come out at 23.6" dia. rears are 5.30/16.00x15 which are 25.6" dia. So glenn's 23.5's are pretty much spot on. Also, remembered this pic in my collection from building...

    What is this? Lola-Gt40 hybrid?

My first thought was Chevron B8, and having done a quick Google image search I'd say it is. Early B8's had the door glass fixed to the roof section and that hinged up along the roof centre line, allowing the door to open normally. Most cars now have the roof section fixed and the glass affixed...
