    Hello from New Zealand

I have got design approval from the LVVTA. My certifier has been and had a look at the chassis and is happy for me to proceed. To meet NZ standards I have had to upgrade the suspension material to schedule 80 x 7/8 tube (I think). All suspension parts have been TIG welded and non destructive...

    Hello from New Zealand

Hi Ryan I have been impressed with the Tornado kit and also the support from Tornado. I have had to make a few changes to some parts to get design approval in NZ. That aside, the build is progressing really well. Gary

    Hello from New Zealand

Thanks for all of the information, looks like I’m in for a bit of a bumpy journey. The local certifier has already said he is not interested in certifying the car because it has fibreglass panels. I will keep you posted.

    Hello from New Zealand

Hi Peter Finally my Tornado kit has arrived and I can start assembly. I am in the process of starting to fill out forms for design approval with the LVVTA. Thanks for the replies. Definitely 7/16 Brian, I have had the engine running without it plugged. I do have a small oil leak around that area , however I think it is coming from slightly above. It was the oil leak that led me to the area. cheers

Ford 302, tapped hole in block

Hello I’m hoping somebody is going to be able to help me out. I have a 1987 SBF, at the back of the engine block on the left hand side (looking from the timing chain end) is a tapped hole 7/16 UNC. Has anybody any idea what this is for? Thanks

    302 water pump bolts

Just to confuse matters, I have a 1987 302, recently I pressure tested the block. Definitely a homemade system, however, I did not have any water coming out of where the timing cover, water pump bolts should have been. You may have to turn your computer screens upside down to view.
