NEW Porsche 993 6 speed transaxle - more info.
Having checked out the transaxle, I am reliably informed by my local friendly Porsche dealership, the spec is as follows:
'95 on, 993 Carrera R.S. 6 speed + L.S.D. (40/65)
Ratios: 1st 41:13, 2nd 40:20, 3rd 35:23 4th 41:33, 5th 42:41, 6th 32:39
The Porsche UK price is 9256.00 pounds sterling, so my price of 3500.00 would seem a bargin !!

I believe that the rear (forward in a Porsche) circular mount point would have to be removed and the shift shaft would need some modification to fit into a GT40. You might want to talk with Powerhaus II who does the lions share of work on Porsche transaxles for Ultima cars about the feasibility/cost of the modifications.
