Accel trigger options??

Hi all -

I'm looking for an alternative to points on the TVR Griff.

289 powered it has an Accel points distributor (cannot remember pn. but will check tomorrow) and ideally I would like to fit an optical trigger or other alternative, sort of fit-n-forget (I hope).

I believe Accel do have conversions but before I jump in I wondered if any of you chaps have experience of such conversions or can suggest options.

I was running a pertronix ignitor in my last dizzy - they go for about £90 and just wire and slot in instead of the points. There's then a small collar that slots over the cam that i guess has magnets in it. I never had any trouble with it and as there are no parts in contact anymore they don't go out of adjustment. They supply to fit many different distributors - you just need to make sure they do one that fits.

Paul I may have an Accel electronic distributor on the shelf from before I converted my car to Mallory. No points just a rotating magnet thingy. We can have a look next time you are over if you want.
