audi transaxle HELP!

Hi!

I have found a source for Audi parts and when talking to this guy (who
has a really bizzare looking backyard which is as big as my tiny
office but still carries a VW Kombi, several Audi engines and a full
sized 5000) he told me that if my auto tranny packs up then just fit
the manual box (which I would do anyway). He then tells me he has a
gearbox called the MQ, which was known as the Victory series box.
Anyone heard of this? I think it is from the early '80s cars. He tells
me it was made for the turbo cars, but even though this guy seems like
a Audi-lover I don't think he is as clued up. So I'm researching this box before doing anything.

What is this MQ manual box? Is it very good? What were the ratios?
Is it hard to find (the guy says it is)? What about the Victory Series,
what is it?

NOTE: i also have found an ( MP ) prefix #, any buddy heard of it ?

Thank You.

Thanks.

Go for an manual transaxle, the MQ prefix i'm not know with, but if it's from a turbo the ratio's must be good, turbo gearboxes are the preferred ones in kitcars.

MP i'm not known with either, but MR could be it if the leg of the R is missing.
MR ratio's are as following:

Hi,
try getting hold of a copy of 'ETKA', which is the computer parts catalog for VAG group.

this will list all the gearbox types with part numbers, gear ratios etc.

I had a copy but its not on my pooter now since its last update, so sorry can't help.
It doesn't cost much - maybe £20 or £30.

Hope that helps.

I've found them in the VAG catalog.

MQ and MP come from an Audi 200(audi 9000 in US) from '80 to '83. There where Turbo and 5 cil. in this era.
I belive ratio's are the same for WU,WV,MP,MQ, but i'm not a 100% shure.

Ratio's are as following:
