I had Trust Transmission built the transaxle. He has some updates that modify the shifter shafts so the lock in better like most American transmissions . It prevents popping out of gears like the porsche transaxles are known for when they have a bit of wear.
The 986.02 has the same internals as the 996.01
He also put in a LSD unit
Also being a mid engine car it does not need to be flipped over as the 996 does for a gt40 application. It has a better axle angle as well.
