A few pics from the NEC Aotusport show in the UK. Just a few pics of the interesting stuff at the show. The one I found very interesting from the engineering area but which was impossible to photograph was from a company that did layer by layer laser weld sintering. Two items stood out, One was a chess set on a board which was 30mm sqare. The castle of the chess set was 3mm high - when you looked at it with a strong magnifying glass it had a spiral staircase inside it going up two floors!
The other was a plastic model of an aircraft radial engine made by laser sintering build up layer by layer. The engine turned and the pistons went up and down but there wasn't a single joint anywhere!
They could make parts from plastic,ali, steel and even titanium.
