A little confusion... the pics DO look monococque but the original CAV's were "semi-monococque" being built around tube framing only. A car advertised on the RM auction site for sale at Meadowbrook this past August, claimed to be
monococque too, but it was one of the original CAV's built just when the South African guys were closing shop but using the last of the chassis provided by GT Developments, technically a GTD-CAV hybrid. Can you elaborate, or even provide build number on the plate? Since the "New CAV" is promoted as being a "real" monococque and "nothing like the original", I just wonder if we can get clarification as the cars come up for sale. Very much appreciated, thank you.

The ad I saw said it is serial number 17 out of the 100 CAV built (Not Auto Futura CAV).
Not sure when CAV started to build mono chassis, but they did build them.

The actual plate number is: 1A17MONOB66... Does this help?
