Cutting SPF lower dash

Thinking of cutting off the lower legs of the dash, the fiberglass portions that rest on the side pods. From what I have seen, on original cars the dash did not continue down, exposing part of the steel structure behind. Comments appreciated.

Guess it depends on what you're trying to do with your 40. If you want more of a tool room car then go for it. But also get rid of the SPF seats, center console, all carpeting, LHD, center gearshift, etc. A more finished look doesn't bother me.

Oh man I was going down this rabbit hole with my old SPF, and decided it was cheaper to just sell it and get something more period correct.

It’s a deep hole lol

Yep, here you! Have found that the hole can be really deep, but don't really mind digging a bit deeper for now.

A few pic's, thanks for asking Rob. Still aways to go.

No T44 yet, Quaife 5 speed. Steering wheel pad was used on the McLaren/Amon car in '66. Can't imagine it would really help in a accident, but I found one so it's on the wheel.
