Distributor question

Hi everybody,

I am struggling to get info or answers on my questions.
I have a Ford 289 and I need the smallest distributor possible.
I have searched the web about 10 hours (and used AI),send a few emails to MSD in the USA and MSD Europe.
MSD has technical info on some of them but not on all (attached in pictures on the website)
If they responded at all it’s like they didn’t even read the mail you send.
So you guys are my last resort

Look at Mallory distributors. Usually smaller in diameter than the typical MSD.

Here is a link to their smallest diameter. 4 3/4” diameter. There are variants, vacuum advance, ready to run, etc.
I used this on my 347 sbf with webers. No firewall clearance issues.

Not sure what you consider small nor what you are installing it in but this fits the SPF GT tub just fine.

Just a note on the MSD ready to run units, part # 8352. I have changed out 4 or 5 such units in both big and small block Fords, the electronics just give out over time and they are not really rebuilable. Even had a new out of the box DOA. I replaced most with a standard Ford dual point distributor. Have also replaced the electronic Mallory Unilite #3755101, et al. Not a big fan of MSD, Mallory or any electronic distributor stuff, when they break you’re down. At least with points you can see and fix.

distributor arrived last week.
So gave it a try in installling it.
Then the moment of truth,installing the eight stack.
