FE to T-44 bellhousing

Hi guys/gals,
does anybody know what the bellhousing used between the FE and the T-44 axle was sourced from on the Mk.II (and I assume Mk.IV), I have seen that they used a twin plate clutch on a "normal" sized FE flywheel but was unsure if there was a special GT40 application bellhousing. If there was, was it just lightened (ali etc.) or did it have different dimensions? Most FE bellhousings I have seen are either Manual or Auto but seem to fit all models (we don't see that many over here in the UK though so I stand to be corrected).

I assume the only supply of T-44s is still with Kar-Kraft / Holman Moodey for a substantial investment in the US economy?

Craig, best bet for a T44 is probably through Mike Teske. Last time I priced one it was 35k. I don't know if he has any left or the status of his production runs. If you need contact info, let me know and I will search for it. You could also try Fran Kress for a T44. I know he had one a while back.

Think you will find that your bellhousing would be supplied with the T44 when you purchase it as they were only used behind FE. ( Neither the manual or auto Production Ford Factory items will fit. Surely at the $$$ I have read about it wouldnt be an optional extra! :) ).

Once again here are some pics of my original T-44 bellhousing, clutch and flywheel and they are all GT40 specific. I know of an original T-44 that just sold for over 50k and it did not include a bellhousing. I do have a few spares of this stuff but no T-44s at this time.
