The eBay listing says that it has a ZF 5 speed transaxle, but that sure doesn't look like any ZF I have seen, maybe the Quaife ZFQ?

I have a stock 2005 Ford GT and a twin turbo 2006 Ford GT. I am well versed on the new GTs. I was looking at buying this car to play with / have fun with (and hold its value).

Can anyone provide some additional thoughts? I thought these were factory configured cars (motors and trans), but I am not getting the warm fuzzies based upon the posts.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Lee,
Don't know what you are expecting from a GT 40 replica. Most of the replicas leave engine and trans choice up to the builder.

I remember them being built/launched. The team that put them together were all pretty well known in racing circles (they made a big play on Broadley's son) and there a lot of nice carbon parts in the car. From memory I think they are a bit more than a 'kit car' and would have expected them to attract a small premium over home built cars, so this one is kind of in the ball park IMO.

I don't know why the team folded after such a short time..perhaps the market wasn't ready?

I think it would be well worth a viewing, but others may know more!

Yes, I have two polished Kirkhams that I built. For these there is a "typical" setup. On reading about the North American cars, they seem to provide two setups 392 Ford SB setup and a 427 setup.

The seller is pushing for 80k for the car.
