I like the 3rd run, where you can see the speedometer go up & up all the way.

I would not liked to have been a passenger on the off course run however!!!!!!

Yoweeeeee!!!!

What driving skills, Mark? The guy spun very early on in the 3rd run going in a straight line. Neat video though. More power than grip which always makes things entertaining. I've only ever got to about 160 mph as never in the right place to go quicker. 222 mph is very fast indeed.

I suspect Mark's 'driving skills' comment was tongue-in-cheek.

Seriously though, 222 on a standing mile, if thats what the event is about is seriously quick for a road car and takes a huge amount of power.

Club member Joel English has achieved I believe 216 ish on a standing mile and that was with getting on 1000-1100 Hp in his Viper - and on road tyres.

160 is flippin' quick too, was that in your 40 Malc or another vehicle?

Just the once in my 40 on a stretch of empty road now littered with scameras. Not something I ever expect to do again or actually wish to now I am a bit older and potentially wiser (ok and with kids to think of too!). I worked it out once. 150 mph is roughly a football pitch length per second. With reaction times etc, you see it, you will likley hit it! At Silverstone I think the 993 was doing about 150 down Hangar Straight which actually doesn't seem fast as there is a good amount of space around you. Then just before you get to your braking zone, Hans Stuck Jnr comes hurtling past in the works BMW at what seems 50 mph quicker than I'm going and, seemingly effortlessly, takes the corner perfectly. I'm so a crap driver by comparison!
