Front inner wheel arch

My friend has a GTD40 which has a molded fiberglass piece which fills in the front inner wheel arch on his car. It replaces several aluminum pieces and makes a very nice looking inner wheel arch. It appears to be profesionally made from a mold. It includes the whole inner wheel arch, and the front of the foot box all the way up to the cowling. Anybody know who made these, GTD claims they didn't

Hi Gordy

I would say that if your friend has a GTD then any fiberglass panels are probably GTD.
GTD in Ray Christopher’s day had a GRP cockpit liner as an optional extra, this would save hours paneling out the car in aluminum.
In fact I wonder why the current manufacturers don’t offer this inner tub because when installed its is usually covered in carpet and if bonded to the chassis would add rigidity.
Any comments?

GTD have never offered a plastic inner wheel arch liner. Have never heard of one from other sources either but sounds interesting. Have heard of one chap who lined up all the ali panels on the inner wheel arch and then when satisfied had them welded into a single peice ali liner. Hard work!
