Hi Everyone,
It’s great to join the forum.
I’m based in Cape Town, South Africa, with a Mechanical Engineering background and a longstanding passion for Ford V8s. A GT40 has always been a dream project for me — the ultimate way to celebrate Ford’s racing heritage.
At this stage, I’m very much in the research and learning phase. I’m particularly drawn to the idea of a modern Ford power-plant (the 7.3 Godzilla certainly caught my attention), but I’m completely open to other Ford-based options that make better sense from a packaging, drive train, and reliability perspective.
I’d really appreciate any advice on realistic engine/trans-axle combinations that work well in GT40 builds, especially for someone starting from a clean sheet and thinking long-term.
Looking forward to learning from the community.
Many thanks,
Lukas
