I’m not sure how the scammers found you, but I would bet it has to do with posting your email here:

From that post the scammers had the context and your contact info. I don’t know how you two made contact, but I don’t see how it could have been through my site. I just sent a test inquiry and all is working fine. Maybe if you could give more info we can find the attack vector.
I received a message from you today on my site for the first time asking that I call you (I have not). From my perspective, the only communication we have ever had is from that thread above.
